5 fun ways to encourage observation and grow children`s inquiry with hydrogels

Preparing hydrogel...boost children`s inquiry by observation.

rinse dry hydrogel with water. keep observe once in 30 minutes for 4 hours or more.

we give students dry hydrogel and they rinse them at home so their moms can observe them together

what will we do with those hydrogel ?

1. collecting hydrogels with the same colour to one cup. is it difficult to pick them ?

2. we make hydrogel satay like this : pin the hydrogels with same colour with a straw. is it difficult to pin them?

3.squeeze them into pieces...hmm.what is it feel? is it hard to squeeze them because they like to jump around you?

4. of course plan trees from its seeds, then observe them and how they grow

LOOK we can see its root clearly !! WONDERFUL !

5. collect pieces of fabrics that have been mixed with hydrogels in a cup or have been placed in the bottom of the cup that full of hydrogels...can you differentiate between the texture of fabrics and hydrogels ?
